First launched in 2017, these new processing units were introduced by Advanced Micro Devices and implemented the Zen microarchitecture. AMD used to only make mobile processors at first, but they have now successfully expanded their range to laptops. Apparently, their key to success has been making APUs for laptops and combining them with the Ryzen CPU architecture and VEGA GPU to increase overall performance.

If you’re looking to buy an AMD laptop too then you’re in luck because in this blog we’re going to talk about the top 4 AMD laptops for 2020. So, without any further ado, let’s just get into it.

The Lenovo ThinkPad E495 firmly fits into the budget pricing range. In fact, its E490 counterpart, which has an Intel processor, is more expensive. However, despite its lower price, the AMD Ryzen mobile processor performs great and can easily take on everyday tasks such as Word or web browsing.

The Intel processor might appear to be a little quicker but the gap is small enough to not matter at all. What matters though is the graphics. Here, the AMD Ryzen 7 3700U is paired up with RX Vega 10 graphics. These modest graphics might not be able to handle modern games, but their performance is twice as powerful as the Intel UHD 620 graphics. That’s a pretty big gap and one that is surely going to attract a lot of people.

As for the battery life, we’re happy to say that there’s no need to worry about it. The Lenovo ThinkPad E495 will easily give more than six hours of screen time.

All in all, if you’re looking for a budget-friendly laptop for everyday tasks that doesn’t compromise on performance, this one’s for you. It even comes with USB-C and 3.1 ports. Not bad AMD. Not bad at all.

The MateBook D is another mid-range laptop from Huawei. The Chinese company has been slowly making a name for themselves in the laptop industry, even though they are mainly known for their smartphones.

Huawei MateBook D’s first impression is impressive. Its design is similar to Apple, as its Space Gray colour and keyboard can attest to. However, that doesn’t make this some cheap copy of the MacBook. This design choice instead makes the MateBook D one of the most stylish mid-range laptop.

As far as connectivity is concerned, Huawei did some nice design tweaks here by including full-sized USB and HDMI ports. When taking into the USB-C port into consideration as well, the MateBook D ends up having better connectivity than most MacBooks out there.

If you want a stylish laptop that’s affordable, has decent performance, delivers a good display, and can last more than 6 hours, this machine deserves your full attention.

It’s got a great build quality like most ThinkPads, has an excellent keyboard, good connectivity that includes USB-C Gen 2 ports, and great business features like DASH support.

The ThinkPad A285’s performance is good as well as it combines the AMD Ryzen 5 Pro 2500U with the Vega 8 GPU. The 8 GB RAM is enough for most tasks and is what you’d expect on a 12.5-inch laptop.

This is a genuinely great product from Lenovo that’s improved by the AMD Ryzen. Plus, its affordable price range doesn’t hurt as well.
